Meet Joshua
Joshua Haynes is a Peruvian-American photographer based in Southaven, Mississippi. His work centers on people and the quiet details that shape a moment.
Drawn to photography through curiosity and observation, Haynes approaches image-making as a way of building connection and documenting individuals with intention. His practice has expanded alongside his leadership in visual arts, including founding his school’s Photography Club and exhibiting work with institutions such as the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, the Academy of Art, and Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Recognized among the nation’s best young artists, Haynes has received national honors through the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, earning an American Visions Medal, a Gold Medal, and a Silver Medal. He is also a member of the Disney Dreamers Academy Class of 2026, where he was named the Disney Dreamer of the Year for his creative vision and impact.
Currently, Haynes serves as a Photography Intern with Hail State Athletics at Mississippi State University, capturing and editing visual content for athletic events and digital platforms. Through game-day coverage, Adobe Creative Cloud workflows, and collaboration with the athletics creative team, he continues to expand his work at the intersection of photography, storytelling, and brand identity.
Beyond still imagery, Haynes works across film and creative direction and remains interested in collaborative projects that allow his practice to evolve. His work reflects an ongoing exploration of identity and self-expression through a restrained, editorial lens.
